I agree with your observation.  The mailing and printing industries have put a lot of effort into defeating proposed legislation.  They have not spent a sufficient amount of resources to educate the public about the economic and environmental value of mail.

We are beginning that effort, but are still at too early a stage to see results.

    How is the best way for the printing, paper, mailing and other related industries to respond to the public? We do not seem to be doing a very good job at that based on what the public believes about our forests, the environment or even direct mail (AKA "junk mail").
